Agrigento – Valley of the Temples

Weather forecast

valley-of-the-temples (TripAdvisor review) and parcodeitempli could be interesting day-trip from Palermo, though is it about a 2hr ride each way. Some of the private tours spend only 2 hours in the Temple area so if we spend 4-5 hr with a lunch that should be fine.

around-sicily does a private tour of up to 8 people to Agrigento from Palermo. €450 (including driver tip) per van for up to 8 people. Plus admission fees.

sicilianholidays also does a private tour to Agrigento for a similar price.

The bus from Palermo takes 2 hrs to get to Agrigento, which is just a few minutes faster than the train.

cuffaro bus line – bus service from Palermo to Agrigento

In Agrigento take the 1, 1/, 2, 2/, 3, 3/ bus from Piazzale Rosselliand and request stops at San Nicola (Archaeological Museum) or Posto di Ristoro (ticket office in front of the Temple of Ercole), cross the road, and buy a ticket at the checkpoint. It looks like a bus runs every 15 minutes.
